| More on Global Warming |
| Thursday, February 28, 2008 |
Here's a great article that takes us back to the 70's. Remember those great and wonderful years of a NEW ICE AGE?????? Yep if you were in school during that time it was all about how the new ice age would wipe out crops, displace millions and destroy the planet....fast forward to now and it's GLOBAL WARMING, and crops are going to be destroyed, it will displace millions and destroy the planet. Geeeeez, can't we just understand it's the weather and it changes. It gets warmer and cooler. I go crazy with the nut jobs who think that man is destroying the planet. The air and water are cleaner now in America then any time in recent history. Come on folks, we have more important things to worry about today.

Here's the links to Jake Snowden and Steve Wrley if you have questions concerning what you should be doing these last few days before the L.R. Marathon. Be sure to check with Steve about the five (5) things youmust do right after the race and then what you need to do the week after the race. To all of you, may your race be a good one. Bret Cummins at channel 4 says it should be a great day for the race with temps in the low to mid 50's Sunday morning and no rain in the forecast.

The latest evidence is that SUV's, coal powered plants and the main demon gas CO2 isn't destroying the earth, in fact instead of getting warmer scientific facts are pointing to global cooling. Here's the latest article.

This is the story from the Dem Gaz on Sunday talking about why we don't have more oil refineries.
Here's an interesting story about our recent winter weather in the US and other places in the world.
My thanks to Doug White, V.P. of the Electric Co-Ops of Arkansas for coming on today and explaining why solar, wind, natural gas and other alternative energies will not take the place of coal without a sizable increase (75%-80%) in our electric bills. If we don't build the coal fired generating plants we need Arkansas Electric Companies will be forced to move to natural Gas. Environmentalists complain about the CO2 that coal plants produce yet man made Global Warming is at best an unproven theory and at worst a complete fabrication, but politicians and extremists are jumping all over it to score points with scared voters. The result could be bringing on a recession in our country. Consider the price of gas. Food has gone up 4% in the last year and is predicted to move up another 4% this year. Now on top of those increases add 75% or 80% to your electric bill. The average bill in Arkansas is around $150.00 a 75% increase would make it $262.00. Add that over a twelve month frame and you have a total of $1344.00 a year. What would you have to give up to pay that extra money? It would put service workers out of work, close many business's and like I said probably bring on a recession. Not a very sunny picture.
Hopefully on the Tuesday show we'll hear from Congressman Mike Ross about his energy legislation. It has some good points and some bad ones as well.

| Tuesday, February 19, 2008 |
Here's the web site for Joseph Piscatella, author of 'The Road to a Healthy Heart runs through the Kitchen.' It's good, with what I believe are the most eatible recipes I've seen in a book of this kind.
Finally we got a call today that said that Glenn Beck is to 'gloom and doom'. I think Glenn is like many of us, concerned about the future of this nation and it's abilities to pay it's bills and keep the contracts it has entered into with it's citizens. Go here and watch the video on the right side of the site. It WILL concern you.
Wednesday on the show. Joe of Joe's Garage and the folks from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission plus we'll look over the primaries from Tuesday and yet again ask "WHY IS MIKE HUCKABEE STILL IN THIS RACE???????"

| Introducing: The Angry White Man |
|
Actually,'The Angry White Man' needs little introduction, but just in case you don't think you could pick one out of a crowd, read this op-ed from the Aspen Times Weekly.
I think is a great article, except for a small point. If you read it, you'll see that there is the potential of the Angry White Man in pretty much everyone you know. And I would guess that to be singled out into this new 'class' is just as disturbing as all the other classes he see others trying to create around themselves.
And being that I am personally not white (I'll admit to being pretty angry) but fit just about all of the rest of the criteria, do I need to create yet another subclass in hopes that someone will finally pander to me. Its hard enough being a fairly conservative black man to begin with...not that the Angry White Man exists, do I need to find a PR firm and start a government lobby group for a group that might just consist of me?
No, I don't want to confuse the issue. Yes, I feel that a majority of the people are being left out of the pandering from the campaigns. And yes I am rather proud of being a hyphenated-American (even if it took 60 years to figure out what I was going to be called). So make sure you actually read this op-ed piece before responding, because its paints telling picture, and a look into the mirror for a lot of us.Labels: politics |

| Gun Free Zones |
|
This is for all the people that think if we make it a law that you can't have a gun near a school then everyone will obey the law. Anyone with a little common sense knows that the only folks who obey such laws are those who are law abiding. The criminal, the mentally unstable, and those who just want to do harm to people understand that those law abiding people are now unarmed and are sitting ducks for the person with a gun. Better to allow those with concealed carry permits to pack their weapon and offer some protection for themselves. Notice I said themselves and not everybody. If you want to give up your RIGHT to protect yourself I may be able to help you but only after I've protected myself. My suggestion. GET A GUN and take responsibility for your own and your families protection. |

| Climate and I'm a fearmonger |
| Wednesday, February 13, 2008 |
Here is the site I suggested for a balanced look at the climate data concerning Global Warming. Also I was called a fear monger today because I presented programs that Clinton and Obama are saying they want to start if they are elected President. Go to their website and look for yourself and see if I'm over reacting. Both candidates want to spend multiple BILLIONS in new spending. As far as my contention that both are Marxist in thought, consider that both want Universal Health Care, or government run health care. Clintons program will cost she says 110 Billion dollars a year while Obama offers his plan for the reasonable (lol) price of 60 Billion a year. How bout Obama wanting to offer Universal Pre-school. He calls it his 0-5Plan. So once your child is out of the womb, the govenment gets their talons into them. On top of that, how bout Universal child care....the lists go on and on. Just remember all of you who believe that Socialism might be a good thing as one caller said today, "that a government that is big enough to give you everything is big enough to take everything away."

| More stuff about Global Warming |
|
Here's a couple articles concerning global warming. First one that deals with polar bears. Then there is the shrill cry of "the sky is falling, the sky is falling." This time it's NY Mayor Bloomberg calling Global Warming the same as terrorism.
It's stories like this one on the mayor that shows why most Americans 72 plus % don't buy the Global Warming Boogie Man story.
Talk to you, this afternoon.

Here's that great article whcih questions if Sen. Clinton will conduct a 'scorch and burn' political campaign or will she be able to just 'ride off into the sunset.' Fox's website talked about the possibility of the Dems snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, that was our topic yesterday. I'll try to offer as much material as possible.

| GLOBAL COOLING????? |
|
All you global warming Chicken Littles might want to pay attention to this story. Also read this story closely as well. I was talking with a representative of Arkansas Electric Co-Ops and he said enviromentalists are going to push the cost of your energy bill up if the coal fired electrical generating plants don't get built in a timely manner or worse don't get built at all. Notice that if we are forced to use natural gas to generate our additionalneeded electricl power it will cost much more then coal would end up costing us. We use coal mined in Wyoming which is far less polluting then the coal from West Virginia. If we don't have the needed electricity to meet future needs not only will we see problems with our personal energy bills but business will be stifiled and necessary jobs will not be available for our citizens.

I'm not going to post any articles today. What I'd like you to do is share your views on how you view this election. What are the issues that most concern you. Which candidate has the 'vision thing.' Which way are you leaning? For the Republicans or Democrats? I'm still suffering from 'Electile Dysfunction', none of these candidates arouse any passion in me.
