MAP
Wednesday, November 28, 2007
Here's a link to the map I referenced on my show today. Enjoy and show it to your friends. A couple of facts for you. It's mentioned that the U.K., Germany and Japan aren't on any one state and that's correct. However, if you add Texas and California together their state GSP's are larger than the U.K., China, Germany or Japan. This year, the U.S. GDP is projected to be 13.22 Trillion dollars. That means that the US economy is larger then the largest economies in the world-Japan, Germany, China and the U.K.----COMBINED.
Our economy is no where near being in the crapper.

Michigan Voters Nix Nativity Scene on Public Property
Wednesday, November 7, 2007
Once again, thank you so much for all the phone calls & Instant Feedback messages as I hosted the midday show on KARN today! I get to live a dream on the air every time I get to interact with all of y'all, and appreciate you taking good care of me.
The topic, a news story from FoxNews.com, Michigan Voters Nix Nativity Scene on Public Property, which turned into two different issues:
-What is the problem with having a nativity scene on city property? -Why is there apathy when it come time to vote on an issue you assume people care deeply about?
Great responses by phone, and lots of awesome Instant Feedback:
Gary in Little Rock: It infuriates me to think it is ok that my beliefs, and many others, should be offended to not offend a few people who probably don't even notice the scenes themselves. Allowing the minority to get their way through misuse of the Constitution only proves "the squeaky wheel gets the grease." To bad most of us have real jobs and lives and don't have the TIME to be squeaky!
Anonymous in Sheridan: You could say that they voted it down because they didn't want to mix other secular items with it. If not and they voted it because they don't want it, do we now destroy the facade on the Supreme Court building? And that is just one building with many references to Christianity, of which this country was founded.
Brandon in Maumelle: The Bill of Rights protects the minority viewpoint. Without it the majority could establish a national religion. CIty Hall nativity scenes are Christian and, therefore are "establishment" (of religion).
shawn in little rock: we are a nation of diversity. what is so bad about leaving the religiuos symbols off public land and leaving to the church property. Jefferson spoke of freedom for us to practice whatever religion so by putting these symbols on public land we are favoring one relgion over another. seems like a no brainer to me.
